From STAFF REPORTS

David Crockett teacher Holly Backberg’s EMR and HOSA students have been working on the Battle of the Belt competition for the past three years, and out of the three, they have won the trophy twice.

The Commissioner’s Council for Injury Prevention is having their quarterly meeting to discuss topics in the improvement of their Violence and Injury Prevention Program. The commissioner’s council was so impressed with our student’s work, they have invited them to Nashville to present the work they have done for the past three years, and the expectations out of the school this year.

At the meeting, students were presented with their fourth Gold Award from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.

No other school has received this many gold awards. Crockett is currently the all-time points leader in that program.
